Blog Five       This week in class we talked about how Cultures Influence Color. First, we defined culture and explored different cultures. Culture is the social forms of a racial, religious, or a group that shares similar life path. Color is a huge symbol to background and experiences. It is important when talking about color to think about age, studies have shown that babies cry more in bright, yellow-colored rooms and couples fight more in bright yellow rooms.  Babies and children respond better to bright contrasting colors, it can affect they concentration or eye strain so it's important to take that into consideration. Youth ages are so influenced by social. Adults are very contrasting to their parents, running away from the colors their parents picked. Boomers are more active than the age before them and work longer. Week 4

Blog Four  This week we talked about color and the value that color can have within a space. Our guest speaker brought up some very interesting knowledge about color. I think I took away the contents of pigment. Especially how they would have made different pigments before Morden materials. All pigments were made up of natural ingredients, but I was amazed what they would have actually used within the color. When you really think about it those materials were truly few and far between. Not even thinking about the labor it would have taken to obtain all the materials to create these vibrant colors.      Color truly effects an individual too, it effects the way you react and respond in spaces and how you interact with the spaces created. Over this past weekend I have been Dog sitting. It is a unique job that allows me to spend time in other people's spaces that they have created and designed themselves. This weekend the home I spent time in was very minimalistic,...

Week Two      This week we discussed lighting as well as color within lighting, I was very interested in the concept of light and how that majorly effects the design. When thinking of light, you need to think of what activities will be taking place in the environment. There are different types of light, ambient lighting, accent lighting, and mood lighting. Some of the most important lighting however is natural lighting, this is accomplished through windows, doors, and mirrors. Throughout our lesson as well we discussed lumens and how the larger room you have you would need more lumens in order to fully light the space.       When thinking about lighting it is important that you consider each space, having the correct lumens for the size and shape of the room. As well as thinking about the color temperature depending on the use of the space. For example, when designing a bedroom, the lighting will be different than a bathroom. In different spaces...
