Week 9

 Week Nine 

This week in the book we went over chapter eight which discussed doing interior renderings with the marker elements. I liked the task of sketching the drawing within the book. These images gave a good idea of shadows and different elements within the design. In the book it went over the different drawing styles, basic style. The basic style uses primary, secondary, and tertiary colors combined with neutral colors. The modern style which uses black, white, and gray as the main colors. Combined with complementary colors, this makes the drawing look simple and sharp. The classical style, this uses darker colors to present a quiet or elegant space. The natural style, this uses neutrals as the main with lighter colors. It presents a natural feeling within a space. I liked the option to draw the space within different color systems. This gave me the opportunity to create a unique space. 

    This week we also went over research for the container home project. I really enjoyed looking at spaces to design my own. It was very accomplishable to see things that I liked or disliked in the spaces to implement what would work best into my design. Some elements that I liked were creating open public spaces to enhance community within the space. It's important to have spaces that are inviting and open to host within my parents' space. 

For my container home I am wanting to create a space for my parents. This will give me the opportunity to create a space where I can actually ask and see what a client would want in their home. The location will be at my home, Lake of the Ozarks! 

The lake is home to a wide range of individuals, there's a range between summer homeowners to locals that stay year-round. As well as a wide range of wealth levels from millionaires to the average Joe. The lake is a perfect growing community to design and host a container home. The location will be on the water with all the normal attractions such as a lake view and dock for all the outdoor fun and excitement! In my design I want to incorporate lots of open spaces and individualism to what my parents most enjoy about the lake they enjoy every day!
